Skin Conditions

The clinic treats skin cancer such as basal cell cancer, squamous cell cancer and early melanoma. If your doctor has referred you and has done a biospy (taken a sample), Dr. Overduin may offer you the opportunity to have the cancer removed the same day as your consultation.  The procedures are done under local anesthesia. You should be able to drive yourself home on the same day. Some procedures need to be rescheduled for a later date. Dr. Overduin will discuss this with you. 

If you have not had a biopsy, Dr. Overduin may recommend that you have one. 

Dr. Overduin will assess your skin condition and determine if you need surgical treatment. If the condition is considered benign, you can decide if you would like to have the spot removed surgically. This is not usually covered by OHIP. You will need to book this procedure for a later date. The initial consultation is covered by OHIP.
